Be diligent to present yourself approved to God.

(Don’t Speed-read Your Bible)

TO THE BIBLE: 2 Timothy 2:15

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

The Bible is not a comic book or novel that you just leaf through; neither is it a story-book or journal that you just breeze through. It’s the most important book on planet earth. It’s God’s manual that guides you on how to live a successful and glorious life. That is why you need to take out time to study it carefully and regularly.

The Bible is full of many interesting and essential lessons, and if you speed-read it, you could miss out on certain vital details that the Spirit of God wants to communicate to you. When you study your Bible, you need to meticulously ponder over each word, each line, each phrase and each verse. Analyse every thought through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. You could also get a Bible dictionary to look up the meaning of unfamiliar words, as it would help you out with your study. And don’t forget to keep a pen and pad close by, so you can take down thoughts that come to your spirit as you diligently study the Word.

Most importantly, meditate on the Word, and let it sink into your spirit. Take out time to confess it over and over again. As you discipline yourself to diligently study your Bible this way, you’d be positioning yourself for a victorious and successful life.
