PUT IT TO WORK!
(Do Something With The Word)
TO THE BIBLE: Romans 2:13 MSG
“Merely hearing God’s law is a waste of your time if you don’t do what he commands. Doing, not hearing, is what makes the difference with God.”
Sometimes, when some folks receive an important counsel or instruction from God’s Word, they feel it’s not for them. They push it aside, saying, “I’ve heard that before,” or “I’ve read that before.” What they don’t realise is that it’s not about what they’ve heard or read before but what they’ve done with what they heard.
I remember crying profusely some years back as I thought about how much I had learnt about Jesus. Every day, I said, “Dear Lord Jesus, I can’t keep this to myself. I’ve got to tell the whole world.” I had this burden within me until it pushed me to go from house to house and on street evangelism. I preached the good news of God’s love everywhere. You see, I did something with the Word of God that I heard. So, don’t just sit on the Word that you receive during church services, when you listen to messages, or when you do some personal study. Do something with it. Tell others about it and put it to work in your life.
You’ve got to understand that God will hold you accountable for His Word that you know; therefore, make sure to put it to practice, and watch your life grow from one level of glory to another.
Go Deeper: James 1:22-25
I refuse to be just a hearer of the Word but a prompt doer, putting the Word to work in every area of my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
