(The Dew Of Heaven Is Upon You)

TO THE BIBLE: Isaiah 58:14

“…You shall delight yourself in the Lord; and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

LET’S TALK

If you go to a restaurant, and on the menu are all sorts of dishes you’ve never heard of, you will definitely want to know what makes up those dishes before making a choice. Well, God says He’ll feed you with a special dish He calls “the heritage of Jacob”. In Isaiah’s day, this was a prophecy, but now in our day, it’s been fulfilled in Christ. It’s no more a promise, but a reality! Isaac and Jacob were Abraham’s seed by natural birth, but you’re Abraham’s seed because you’re born again (Galatians 3:29). This entitles you to the same heritage Jacob enjoyed, which were all the blessings Isaac invoked upon him before he died.

This heritage includes the “dew of heaven” (Genesis 27:28). Your life will never again be dry. The dew of heaven will make everything you do turn into success. Also included in your inheritance is “the fatness of the earth” which refers to “oil,” a symbol of the anointing of God’s Spirit, and “plenty of corn and wine”, which refer to prosperity and abundance.

When the glory of God and His anointing are upon your life, you will lack nothing, you will be so blessed materially and financially that others will honour you (Genesis 27:29). That’s also part of your heritage. God has placed you in a position of power. Your words and actions will matter and make tremendous impact in people’s lives. This was Jacob’s heritage but it’s yours now, so go ahead and enjoy it!
