Faith in a Culture of Unbelief is a message by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church

Pastor Paul Adefarasin

Faith in a Culture of Unbelief” is a message by Senior Pastor of House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin in his “Something is about to happen” series.

The main scriptures are from John 11:11-15, 12:1-2, 9-15

“These things He said, and after that, He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up. Then His disciples said, “Lord if he sleeps he will get well.” However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep. Then Jesus said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe. Nevertheless, let us go to him.”

Jesus in his own days preached in a culture of unbelief.  He preached under a crowd of allegations, accusations and defiances. The people didn’t care about who he was and were not willing to listen to him.  How do you preach faith in a culture of unbelief?

Preaching alone will not work

This day, people do not believe what you say, they believe what you do. Jesus was called different names while on earth but he still made an impactful difference and this was because his message was more in his actions and doings than in his talking.

Support your talk

Jesus was not just an orator or speaker. He was a doer and an impactor. Luke confirmed this in the book of Acts in his letter to Theophilus. He wrote in Acts chapter one verse one: “Theophilus the former treatise that I have written to you of all the things with Jesus both began to do and to teach” meaning in his time and in our age of unbelief as well, talk is cheap. It’s so cheap anybody can talk. If your talk is not backed and supported by evidence, then it is not going anywhere.

Delays are not necessarily denials

God will sometimes withhold good from you because he intends to give you the best. There are things that you do that will lend credibility where there was formerly incredibility. Jesus wasn’t going to give Lazarus a healing, he wanted to give him much more than a healing. Jesus wanted to give him success and significance.

Good works

One of the reasons why we don’t believe God the way we ought to is because we are bombarded by a counterculture. So believing is hard and the church in this day is going to have to begin to manifest the power of God and the wisdom of God in what she does to bring things back to life. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, he did that because he reasoned that he doesn’t need to really preach to the people of Israel but he was going to let his work preach. The people he wants to reach were not going to listen to him but when they see irrefutable works they have to bow.

YOUR CAN RECREATE YOUR WORLD WITH YOUR WORDS

YOUR CAN RECREATE YOUR WORLD WITH YOUR WORDS

YOUR CAN RECREATE YOUR WORLD WITH YOUR WORDS

Recreate your world with your words

you have a situation you want to change? Is there anything you want to make or see in your life? You dont have to cry about it. You can take the word of God and use it to change things or recreate your world for the better.

This is the principle that God used to create the world.
The bible says, through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3).

The whole earth was a chaotic mass and full of darkness. The holy spirit brooded and incubated upon it, but nothing changed. That period of incubation was important because he conceived what he was about to create.

Then in the midst of the chaos and darkness, God said “let there be light and there was light!

The bible says concerning the word of God that “all things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:3)

What do you want to create today? What situation do you want to change? Romans 10:8 says that the word is near you and it’s in your heart. The word that created the universe and upholds it today is still here with us.

Take it with you and lift your voice in prayer to God. When you have incubated upon that situation, go ahead and speak and recreate your world!

Gods Principle for Financial Increase

Gods Principle for Financial Increase

Gods Principle for Financial Increase

God wants to prosper you so that you can a source of positive influence, an influence from the kingdom of God to help other people.

When you want to prosper financially you need to know what the bible says financially.
There are different rules, you dont use volleyball rules for table tennis.

3John 1:2 says “Beloved i wish above all things that you may be in health and prosper even as your soul prospers”

He’s looking at different areas of our lives. So when you are dealing with financial prosperity you have to look at scriptures that deal with financial prosperity and understand them and know how to function in them for your financial increase.

2 corinthians 9:6-8 says But this I say he which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
7 – Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. —
8 – And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: —

This is the place of our inheritance, this is the place where God wants you to live in.
There are people who receive sparingly grudgingly that means others give to you little and when they give to you they give grudgingly. They give to you little and they complain when they do so.

God takes pleasure in a cheerful and prompt to do it giver whose heart is in his giving. When he gives to God hes excited about what he is giving. The bible say God takes pleasure in that person, he prices that person above other things. He didnt say above other persons but above other things which means irrespective of what God is doing, he is ready to leave anything else and attend to you.

And then he says God is unwilling to abandon that person or to do without him.

Why is it important that you should prosper
Prosperity is your birth right, you deserve to have a good and healthy life. Complained dont have a healthy life, they are sick people. When you complain it produces sickness in you. Be glad in the day you are living in, dont wish for days that are past because they will never come again. This is your time, be excited about life, be hopeful about tomorrow, dont be bound by yesterday’s problems.

Therefore Program yourself today for a prosperous tomorrow. Be excited about today. The problems of today are not for you to cry about or worry about but for you to create a change, to impact your world, for you to stand up tall and say I can make a difference.

Ecclesiastes 7:12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Wisdom gives life, money doesnt give life.
If you have money its unlikely that people can frustrate you. Because money talks, you need money, a broke man cant do much.

Money is a spirit, it causes money to come to you or it causes money to run away from them.
Money runs away from people who dont treat it well. E.g people who squeeze money dont have a lot of it. Dont mistreat money, treat it right, talk right about it with the language that God gives and iit will come to you in abundance.

Ecclesiastes 9:14-16 There was once a small city with only a few people in it. And a powerful king came against it, surrounded it and built huge siege works against it. 15 Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man.(A) 16 So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” But the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.

That’s why you should refuse to be poor. The poor mans wisdom was despised and his words no longer heeded.

No More Broken takes you through a journey of moving from the past into the future. It’s a bold declaration for one not to see one’s self through lenses that see them as broken . It’s a song that says goodbye to pain and sorrow and takes up the offer of hope and healing; freely. It’s a comfort to anyone who has experienced guilt and shame from their past experiences to know that they are made for more if they hold on to the Word. They are lifted above the old and into the new and can face their fear and declare “ I’m no more broken’. A lot of things that can leave one broken happens in no other place than the home but the home can also be a place of restoration, hope and healing. NK Maduforo shares that her salvation encounter happened in her bedroom growing up. The contrast between being in a dark place and moving forward to light are shown in the video. The video is intentional in capturing relatable scenes such as speaking to one’s self in a mirror, skipping in joy and dancing as a form of freedom. Gloom and doom quickly makes way for light and merriment with the entrance of the Word.

LYRICS
No More Broken

I’m letting go of the pain,
letting go of the shame
Holding on; to your name.
Now I know there’s no more curse,
I’m looking up to the cross,
I’m letting go of my past

Pre-chorus
‘cos, I’m no more broken,
I’m no more broken

I am free
Free to live
No more bound by disgrace,
Moving forward by grace.
I am whole,
Made for more
Beauty for ashes
A garment of praise
And the freedom to say;
I’m no more broken!

Chant: Iyelele, iyelele, iyelele, iyelele, iyelele, iyelele,

I’m letting go of the guilt,
I’m letting go of the hurt,
I’m moving on to greater heights.
No more sorrow
No more tears
I am bold
I’m facing my fears
I’m holding on to your word

Pre-chorus
I’m no more broken
I’m no more broken

I am free
Free to live
No more bound by disgrace,
Moving forward by grace.
I am whole,
Made for more
Beauty for ashes
A garment of praise
And the freedom to say;

I’m no more, I’m no more broken!
I’m no more, I’m no more broken!
I’m no more
I’m no more broken
I am free
Free from despair
Lifting my head high
No more broken.

Lifted!
I am lifted!
I am lifted, by the word!
Above; sin and sorrow,
into the presence of the Lord

No more, I’m no more broken!
I’m no more, I’m no more broken! (Iyelele, iyelele, iyelele)
I’m no more broken!
I’m no more, no more broken!
No more, I’m no more broken!( I’m no more broken)
I’m no more, no more broken!
