Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.

TO THE BIBLE: 1 Corinthians 14:1 NIV

“Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.”

LET’S TALK

Do you realise that, as God’s son or daughter, you can prophesy? Yes, you can! Don’t make the common mistake of thinking that prophecy is just for pastors, prophets, evangelists and apostles; it’s for the whole Church! Every Christian ought to prophesy. Once you’re born again and have received the Holy Spirit, you’ve received the divine enablement and inspiration to prophesy. To prophesy means to speak forth the Word of God in power, whether by foretelling of future events, or as a word of power to cause a change in the now!

The Bible says, “…he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church” (1 Corinthians 14:3-4). When you declare the mind of God in prophecy, others are edified, strengthened, and comforted. Moreover, with the gift of prophecy, you can chart your course in perpetual victory and triumph.

A classic case is that of Ezekiel’s, who was brought into a valley of dry bones. Here the Lord asked him, “Can these bones live?” That was an impossible situation, but the Lord said to him, “Prophesy to these bones.” As soon as Ezekiel complied, a great miracle took place; the bones came together, every bone to its bone (Ezekiel 37:7).

You should prophesy your way out of any negative situation. Don’t let the challenges you face drown your faith; prophesy your health, success, prosperity and victory. Perhaps you were told you didn’t get admission into the University; or that you failed a subject in school; refuse to be dismayed; don’t panic. Prophesy! Through prophecy, you can make things turn around for your good immediately. Hallelujah!
