DON’T HEAD FOR THE DOOR!
(Keep On Praying Till There’s A Change)
TO THE BIBLE: Luke 18:1 AMP
“Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).”
Some Christians give up too quickly. They desire a change in a particular situation and pray about it, but when it seems as though nothing is happening, they quit praying. If only they’d realise that as they continue in prayer, things would definitely change. What happened with the Apostles back in Acts 12 is an inspiring example. King Herod had arrested and killed James. When he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter, with plans to execute him as well.
When the other disciples heard of Peter’s arrest, they began praying for him without ceasing. In other words, they didn’t quit praying. They gave God reasons why Peter’s life should be spared, and they continued praying this way until he was miraculously delivered from the maximum security jail cell. They knew their prayer would cause a change, and it did!
You should also do the same when you need to change things. It doesn’t matter in what area of your life you need the change; it may be in your health, academics or family, just keep on praying. Declare in faith God’s Word concerning that particular situation and continue praying until there’s a change.
Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word to me today. I make up my mind never to give up on any situation because I know I can effect changes through prayer, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
