TO THE BIBLE: John 3:16 AMP
“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”
Walking in love is one of the trademarks of Christian maturity, and expressing and showing that love is very vital. The Word declares, “We love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). That’s the right response to have toward God! You see, as a Christian, His love nature has been deposited in you, and you’re to express that love to the Lord daily. It’s vital you do!
In Proverbs 23:26 (RSV), the Lord said, “My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.” That’s what He’s asking for; nothing could be better to give Him than your love. Your love for Him will propel you to live for Him, and fulfil His call on your life. When you look into the mirror of God’s Word and see the high price tag paid for your salvation—the love sacrifice of His dear and precious Son Jesus Christ on the Cross—you’d know who you really are and love Him absolutely.
So from today, practise loving Jesus. Protect and proclaim your love for Him every day; keep it aflame all the time. Love can be quenched, so make sure you stir your love and passion for Him in such a way that nothing and no one can take it away.
Go Deeper: John 13:34, Ephesians 3:14-19
Dear Lord, I love you with all my heart, and I thank you for the privilege and blessing of serving you and living for you! I’m propelled and compelled by your love to keep sharing your Word everywhere I am, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
