The eternal life that God promised before the world began was fulfilled when Christ came.

ETERNAL LIFE IS HERE

(It’s A Promise Fulfilled!)

TO THE BIBLE: Titus 1:2-3

“In hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began, but has in due time manifested His word through preaching, which was committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior.”

LET’S TALK

The eternal life that God promised before the world began was fulfilled when Christ came: “The life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us—that which we have seen and heard we declare to you…” (1 John 1:2-3). The Bible also says, “…all the promises of God in Him (Christ Jesus) are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

You see, Jesus came to do much more than die for your sins; His death was a means to an end: to give you eternal life—the God-life. You’ve become partakers of the divine nature, and an associate of the God-kind (2 Peter 1:4). In 1 John 5:13 (GNB), the Apostle John writes, cv Eternal life isn’t something you’ll get to enjoy in the sweet by-and-by; it’s a promise fulfilled and a done deal. It’s in the possession of the one who believes in Jesus Christ, being a gift from God (Romans 6:23).

So, eternal life has come! Once, it was a promise, a hope afar off, but Christ has died; Christ is risen, and we were raised together with Him to a newness of life. He’s brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel (2 Timothy 1:10). Jesus came, not just to save humanity from sin, but also to give us eternal life—the God-life.
