Understanding the mystery of God’s mercy By Apostle Joshua Selman

Scripture: 1 Sam 12: 6

Do you know that it was God who caused both Moses and Herod to advance? Most of the things we need in life is mercy and favour dependent ,psalm 103: 1-5 then 17. One of the ways to identify lack of favour in man’s life , it’s through stagnation and hardship. At this point, when you see them, they continue to grow in age but they don’t grow in other aspects of their lives. But the only thing will help such person is God’s mercy.

When mercy starts working in one’s life, you hear people saying things like, he just came from nowhere and he is rich. Nobody comes from nobody and that’s the truth. People can be mercy and favour made. You know why? When people are going through challenges in life, you don’t know the negotiations going on between God and them. This is why nothing of value is physical. Physical things were not framed from the earth, and that is why when God wants to bless a man, he does not put things in his hands rather he puts things in his head. You know genuine men not by what is in their cup you know them by what is in their head.

When we talk about mercy, it is not only for sinners as believers think. Mercy is the only door of God’s possiblities. When his mercy is upon you, certain things begin to make way in your life. The mercy of God is not to redeem carelessness, it is to help humanity notwithstanding their wreckful life, Psalm 103: 1-3. It shows tha God loves us and mercy is an expression of his willingness. The grace of God does not come to the strong people, it only comes to the weak people and when it comes, it goes to the weak point.

FOLLOW JESUS’ EXAMPLE
(Have No Consciousness Of Need)

📖 TO THE BIBLE: 2 Peter 1:3
“…His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
There’re people living their lives in worry and fear for the future; they’ve heard so much from the news media about the depletion and decimation of world economies, and they’re uncertain about the integrity of their state support systems. But as you study the scriptures and grow in God’s Word, you’d come to realise that everything you could ever want has been provided in the Word.

1 Corinthians 1:9 says, “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” You’ve been called into fellowship with Jesus Christ. That means you’ve been brought into oneness, a partnership or family union with Jesus Christ. If this is true, what in the world could you ever need? Every good thing you could ever want in your life or have enough sense to ask for is wrapped up in Christ. To have Christ is to have everything.

Our opening scripture says He’s already given you all things that pertain to life and godliness. Your approach to the Word of God should be, “If God says it, then my response is “Yes.” If He says I have all things in Christ, then it means all things are mine; no need to ask for anything because all my needs have been provided in Christ.” Let this be the way you think. What God wants isn’t for us to use prayer as an avenue to ask Him for the things we need; rather, the purpose of prayer is our fellowship with Him. That’s what He seeks. Jesus had no consciousness of need; follow His example.

USE THE SOUND CODES (Words Have Creative Energy And Potency)

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Proverbs 18:21 GNB “What you say can preserve life or destroy it….”

▶️ LET’S TALK
One of the many beautiful benefits of having the scriptures is that it shows us God’s ways and principles so that we too could do what God did, to shapen our lives after God’s pattern. Genesis 1, for example, shows us in detail how God brought forth the universe and all the beautiful things in it; He spoke the whole of creation into being with words. When He said, “Let there be light,” light came into being (Genesis 1:3).

Have you ever wondered why God had to “talk” to bring forth these things instead of making them? It’s because by talking, you create a sound code. Speech creates sound waves, and the original source material for creation is sound because that’s the energy produced by words. They are sound codes. Therefore, a sound code is the instruction, meaning, account, or information embedded in a sound wave.

When an object moves from one point to another, it is said to possess a form of energy called kinetic energy; when electrons move through a substance, such a substance is said to possess electric energy. Similarly, when you utter words, you produce creative energy that has the potency of creating precisely what you proclaim. If you speak ugly words, your words will crystallise into ugly experiences; if you speak beautiful, edifying words, your experiences would take the same form.

The Holy Spirit Helps You Do The Impossible

HE POWERS YOU UP

TO THE BIBLE Acts 1:8
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

LET’S TALK
Before Jesus’ ascension, He said to His disciples, “What comes next is very important: I am sending what my Father promised to you, so stay here in the city until he arrives, until you’re equipped with power from on high” (Luke 24:49 MSG). Then in our opening verse above, He said to them, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” Why is this important? It is because there’s no Christianity without the power of the Holy Spirit! What is power?

The word translated “power” in Acts 1:8 is the Greek “dunamis,” which means inherent power, the dynamic ability to effect changes. It also means miracle-working ability. It refers to the ability to do the impossible. If you’re born again and have received the Holy Spirit, you’ve received the ability to do the impossible—a supernatural ability! It’s the creative ability of God. Now, that same Holy Spirit lives in you. Therefore, you have the divine ability to accomplish any task and change hopeless situations.

The Holy Spirit is your power-up; with Him, you can never be defeated or disadvantaged. If you want the glory of God in your life, if you’re going to walk in dominion over devils, sickness, and death, then the Holy Spirit is all you need. His presence in your life makes you indomitable!

Like Paul, be bold to say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). The Holy Spirit lives in you; you’re not helpless or ordinary. He’s the power of God and the power-giver. Walk with Him, and it’ll be victory, success, and miracles for you all the way!
