WE’RE ALL IN ONE SHIP

The Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of wisdom, is that excellent spirit.

WE’RE ALL IN ONE SHIP
(Learn To Pray For Your Nation And Its Leaders)

TO THE BIBLE
Jeremiah 29:7 NIV
“Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

LET’S TALK

“I just can’t wait to escape from this country for good,” “Nothing works here!” “We’re far behind,” are some of the regular complaints made about our country today. A lot complain about the corruption, religious intolerance and other endemic vices in the society. But the only way the corruption and other vices can wane in any nation is when Christians rise to the challenge, and take up the responsibility of prayer and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Think about this: you’re on board a huge cruise ship, journeying somewhere on a pleasure voyage. If the captain and cabin crew members somehow get confused and announce that the ship had lost its bearing, everyone on board would be in trouble, right? This is because everyone trusted the captain to steer the ship in the right destination. That ship can be likened to the nation where you live, and the captain and crew members, the leaders. This shows how important your role is, therefore, to pray for the leaders of your country. They ought to be yielded to m God’s Spirit to guide them aright to steer the nation in the mdirection of His will and purpose, hence, their need for your prayers.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 tells us God’s desire for all men is to be saved; He wants His righteousness to rule the hearts of everyone and guide their thinking. This is the reason we must intercede for their hearts to be opened and receptive to the message of the Gospel.

You must pray that the Word of God will have free course, be glorified and have prevailing power in the lives of the leaders and citizens of your country. Remember, whatever happens in your country affects you directly or indirectly, so don’t put the fate of the country in the hands of others. Bear the responsibility as well.

Colossians 4:2
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Luke 18:1
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Psalms 122:6
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

PRAY

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the privilege and opportunity to impact my nation positively through prayer. I decree that there’s peace, progress and prosperity within her borders, as the leaders are guided by your wisdom and fortitude to do your will, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

USE YOUR MIND PASTOR CHRIS

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2).

The focus of Romans chapter 12 is the subject of thoughts—the use of your mind. Your mind is an instrument given to you by God to improve your life from glory to glory. You have to see first in your mind the things you desire for your life, and create them. Thoughts are pictures of the mind that have power and create realities.

The quickest way to affect your thoughts is through mental pictures. Every man is the character of his thoughts. Your mind can make you poor or make you rich; it can put you in a place of glory or in a place of dishonour. The Bible tells us about Lazarus, a righteous man who was a beggar (Luke 16:20-21). When he died, he was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom, but he lived and died a beggar, not because that was his destiny, but because that was his mindset.

Romans 12:3 says God has given to everyone the measure of faith; so it’s about what you do with your faith. If Lazarus had projected himself in faith, envisioning his rich heritage as the seed of Abraham, he wouldn’t have remained poor. Use your mind to focus, and project yourself to your next greater level. However, don’t disdain or berate others who’re yet to attain your level of reasoning. Don’t compare yourself with them; rather, understand that each of is at a different level of faith, and gifted differently. How do you think? Jesus often challenged the Jews to think right. Use your mind correctly, to picture your glorious and victorious life in Christ.

Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

BE A ROLE MODEL
(You Can Mentor Others For The Lord)

TO THE BIBLE Matthew 28:19-20 CEV

“Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you…”

LET’S TALK
Perhaps you want to become a surgeon, an architect, a nurse, a teacher, a pilot, or a preacher in the near future; no matter what you dream of becoming, it’s not going to happen overnight. For example, if you want to become a surgeon, you’ll have to be instructed over several years on the rudiments and intricacies of the medical field.

Becoming effective in spiritual things is no different. In the same way that a teacher trains his students to be proficient in a subject; God wants you to train those you win to Christ and make them competent in living the God-life. In Matthew 28:20, Jesus said, “…instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you….” (MSG). You may say, “But I’ve not been a Christian that long; I only gave my life to Christ 6 months ago. What can I possibly teach someone else?” You don’t have to wait till you’ve been a Christian for several years before you raise others. From the time you received Christ and started learning God’s Word, you became responsible for someone else who doesn’t know as much as you.

So, take up that divine responsibility today, and begin to train others in the way of the Lord. You’ve already been empowered to do this.

GO DEEPER
1 Timothy 4:12
Take Heed to Your Ministry
Let no one [a]despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, [b]in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Romans 15:1-3
Bearing Others’ Burdens
We then who are strong ought to bear with the [a]scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to [b]edification. 3 For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”

PRAY
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for empowering me to raise others for you. I thank you for counting me faithful and putting me into this ministry. I’m making a difference in my sphere of contact, by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

ALWAYS ACKNOWLEDGE GOD’S PRESENCE AND WORK IN YOU , AS JESUS CHRIST DID.

ACKNOWLEDGE HIS PRESENCE AND MINISTRY IN YOU ;

…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you) … (Hebrews 13:5 AMPC).

As a child of God, you’re never alone; you’ll never walk alone, because the Holy Spirit is in you. He lives in and with you always. Part of His ministry in your life is to stay in fellowship with you, strengthening your faith and stirring up courage in you to do the will of God, and fulfil your calling. Encourage His work and ministry in your life through your conscious appreciation of His indwelling and abiding presence. When you’re out on evangelism, witnessing to others about Christ, be conscious that He’s with you. As you minister and share the Word, you may be talking to the person from the outside, but He’s ministering to the person on the inside, confirming the Word in their hearts. He ministers along, and together, with you as your Helper.

Always acknowledge His presence and work in you, as Jesus did. Jesus said, “…the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works” (John 14:10). He recognized the Holy Spirit as the Father in Him, working in and through Him. The Holy Spirit is the Father in you; your Guide and your Keeper. Trust Him with your life. He’s the best friend and Helper you could ever have.

If you’re experiencing challenges right now, perhaps with your finances, health, academics, marriage, business, or career, don’t fret; trust the Holy Spirit. Set your attention and affection on Him; He
never fails. Read again His reassuring and comforting words to you in our opening scripture, and ponder on the emphasis: “…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)…. ”

PRAYER
I’m a champion for life, by the Holy Spirit who lives in me, and works in and through me. I acknowledge His presence and work in my life, and declare that He’s my guarantee of a life of everlasting success, limitless progress and victories, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:
Matthew 28:19-20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
