TRUE CHRISTIAN LIVING

(Without The Holy Spirit, Life Becomes A Struggle)

TO THE BIBLE: John 14:16-17 AMP

“…I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.”

LET’S TALK

Have you ever heard anyone say, “Christianity is such a struggle?” If you ask me, “Is Christianity an easy life?” I’ll say yes and no. This might sound conflicting, but it’s true. There’s a reason why Christianity is not easy for some folks. In the same way it’s not easy for a cat to be a dog, a sinner will definitely find it difficult to live the Christian life. He has to be born with the life of God to be able to live it.

“Now, what about the one who’s born again and still has a problem living the Christian life?” you might ask. I’ll say it’s not easy for him too, if he doesn’t have the Holy Spirit. Jesus said He’d ask the Father to send us another Comforter to abide with us forever.

That’s the Holy Spirit. Without Him, it’s absolutely impossible to live the authentic Christian life. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been a Christian; it’s the Holy Spirit who teaches you how to live the victorious Christian life. He gives you understanding and helps you enjoy everything God has made available to you (John 14:26, 1 Corinthians 2:10). So when you’re born again and living according to the Spirit, there’s no struggle at all. You’re as divine as God is, and you have all that God could ever give. All you need do is hear His Word, believe it, confess it, and it will surely work! You don’t need to struggle to live the Christian life.
