You Can Make Demands In Jesus’ Name.

MAKE MIRACLES HAPPEN!

(You Can Make Demands In Jesus’ Name)

TO THE BIBLE: John 14:13-14 RSV

“Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.”

LET’S TALK

Some people read this scripture and think Jesus was referring to prayer, but He wasn’t. Let’s look at it again: “Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it” (John 14:13-14 RSV). This isn’t prayer, because the original Greek word translated “ask” here means “demand.” This scripture refers to making a demand in the Name of Jesus, and is quite different from John 16:23 where He meant praying to the Father in His Name.

In John 14:13-14, the Lord is saying that if you demand anything to happen in His Name, He’ll make it happen! An example of this is shown in Acts 3. Peter didn’t pray for the cripple at the gate called Beautiful: he made a demand in the Name of Jesus when he said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). That Name is for you to use today!

You can have miracles happen anytime and anywhere just as Peter did. A miracle simply means God intervening in the natural course of events, and He produces them through you. You can’t be bound by anything in life! You can always cause a change in any unfavourable circumstance using the Name of Jesus, and it will turn around to your benefit. Glory to God!
